ABOUT US
Membership of the Accord is voluntary and includes local liquor licensees, the Marine Local Area Command of the NSW Police, City Of Sydney Police, Liquor and Gaming NSW, RMS and other community organisations.
The Sydney Harbour Liquor Accord (SHLA) provides a strong foundation to enhance and promote communication amongst all stakeholders in the community to proactively address ways to improve the operation of licensed vessels so that they are safe and enjoyable environments for both residents and visitors.
SHLA brings together a collective wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise to identify and implement best practice and introduce initiatives which are specifically tailored to impact issues affecting member premises and the local community.
The Objectives of the SHLA are:
Reduce alcohol related harm/crime
Promote responsible behaviour amongst patrons of licensed premises
Responsible service of alcohol
Improve safety and security
improve the local amenity
co-operate with the police and the community to improve local outcomes
OUR VALUES
Members acknowledge the need to minimise harm associated with misuse and abuse of liquor (including harm arising from violence and other anti-social behaviour).
Members acknowledge the need to encourage responsible attitudes and practices towards the promotion, sale, supply, service and consumption of liquor.
Members acknowledge the need to ensure that the sale, supply and consumption of liquor contributes to, and does not detract from, the amenity of community life.
Members acknowledge the need to promote safety and positive perceptions about Sydney Harbour.
Members acknowledge the need to foster strong community relations and as such will proactively engage with local residents over issues of concern.
Members acknowledge that they represent the partnership that is the SHLA and as such will strive to ensure that their actions and the operations of their respective vessels will reflect the values stated here.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS
